Elite Low Carb Stuffed Peppers
Ingredients
- 2 Sweet Peppers 125g
- 30 grams Black Diamond High Protein Cheese - Mild Cheddar
- 250 grams Extra Lean Ground Turkey
- 1/2 cup Walden Farms Calorie Free BBQ Sauce
- 4 tbsp Hot Salsa
- Tabasco Optional
Instructions
- Remove and discard the tops, seeds, and membranes of the bell peppers. Cut peppers in half and arrange on a baking sheet the hollowed sides facing upward.Grate the cheese. Weigh out 2 separate portions of 15g each. Set aside. It's very important to weigh out the cheese. It is a great product, but portion control is extreme important as the fat content can add calories very quickly. (There are 90 calories in 30g.)Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)Cook the ground turkey in a non-stick frying pan. Drain excess liquid.Reduce heat, add all of the salsa & 4 tablespoons of Walden Farms BBQ Sauce.Option: add a few dashes of Tabasco sauce if you want the extra heat.Divide meat into 4 equal portions and stuff each pepper half.Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven, basting with remaining Walden Farms BBQ sauce every 15 minutes, until the peppers are tender.Remove from oven and top each pepper half with 7.5g (half of each 15g portion) of Black Diamond High Protein Mild Cheddar cheese.Put back in over and broil until cheese is melted. Remove from over, place on plate and dig in!!!
